The auxiliary water pump castings for the second World War ship "HMS Hood" being just one of the many items produced in those early days for local companies. George Bethell senior died in 1948, leaving his son Fred to take over and gradually moving the company into brass finishing. The foundries finally closing in the late 1950's. The change over to precision engineering & special purpose machinery has continued with the present George Bethell. George took over the business in 1974 & continues with the acquisition of CNC capability. The ability to communicate quickly and precisely with our customers is another key to our success. The present system now lends itself more towards e-mail and electronic file transfer eliminating any costly loss of detail as with the old Fax system. |
